Welcome to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027
The Cricket One Day International World Cup comes to Southern Africa in October and November 2027. In total, three countries host the tournament: South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
Competition Format
A total of 14 teams split into two groups. They play a round-robin format first. Then the top 7 teams advance to a knock-out stage, competing for a place in the semifinals.
The Host Cities
In total, South Africa hosts 41 matches across seven cities: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Bloemfontein, KuGompo City (East London), and Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe hosts between 8 and 10 matches, with Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls as the host cities.
Finally, Namibia hosts 3 matches in the capital city, Windhoek.
The Match Schedule
Organizers have not finalized the full match schedule yet. However, we do know the competition opens with the first match at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town on 04 October 2027.
The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg hosts the first semifinal, match 52, on 12 November 2027. Kingsmead Stadium in Durban then hosts the second semifinal, match 53, on 14 November 2027.
Newlands Stadium in Cape Town hosts the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup on 21 November 2027.
World Cup 2027 Cricket: Qualification & Key Dates
Every side earned its place in the 2027 Cricket World Cup qualification process. Automatic ODI Super League rankings decided some places, while regional qualifying tournaments decided the rest.
