Tour Description
On your arrival in Cape Town, your Safari Director will be waiting to meet once you have completed the immigration formalities. Depending on the time of your arrival we will either transfer straight to your hotel in order for you to freshen up, or we will proceed to the Table Mountain Cableway and ascend to the top of the mountain for a guided tour of the Table Top.
From Table Mountain, we will do a brief Historical City Tour in Cape Town before we proceed to the Cellars Hohenhort Hotel located in the beautiful Constantia Wine Region. Your Safari Director will take time to brief you on the full Safari Itinerary and answer any questions that you may have.
Today we travel around the spectacular Cape Peninsula. Our first stop is at Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. This is the most south-westerly point of Africa but it is not the location where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. The southernmost tip of Africa is a two-hour drive in an easterly direction from Cape Town at Cape Agulhas.
From Cape Point, we travel along the False Bay Coastline to the colony of African Penguins located at Boulders Beach. Your Safari Director will do a guided tour for you of the Penguin Reserve.
We now travel through the village of Simonstown and across the peninsula to drive over Chapmans Peak Drive. This coastal drive is regarded as one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world.
Our route takes us through Hout Bay and along the Atlantic Coastline to Camps Bay where we could stop at one of the very popular sundowner venues to watch the spectacular sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. We then return to the hotel for a relaxing evening.
Today we discover some of the award-winning wines produced in the Cape Winelands. Our day starts with a cellar tour at KWV Cellar in Paarl that celebrated its centenary year in 2018. The cellar tour is followed by a tasting of the fine wines and spirits produced at the cellar.
Our next stop is at Fairview Wine Estate for a Master Wine and Cheese Pairing. A tasting of eight award-winning wines paired with eight different varieties of cheese that are all produced in the estate.
We now travel to the second oldest town in South Africa, Stellenbosch. After a brief orientation tour, you can take some time to explore the historical but very vibrant town that is also home to the Stellenbosch University.
If time permits, we will do one more wine tasting of the return journey to the hotel.
This morning you will have an early breakfast and check out of your room because you are scheduled to fly to the Lion Sands Game Reserve arriving at your lodge soon after lunch.
Settle in to your luxury suite and then return to the reception area for tea, coffee, juice, and cookies before you depart on your first Game Drive with your Ranger. The open Safari vehicles allow you an unobstructed view of the wildlife as every passenger has a side or "window" seat.
You will return a while after sunset in order that you can be out on the reserve when the nocturnal animals start moving around. Dinner is served a while after you return and you may relax on the deck to listen to the sounds of the African bush untill you are ready to retire.
The animals are at their most active early in the morning and again in the late afternoon. This is the best time for us to be doing our Game Drives to see as many species as possible.
During the day you may relax and swim in your private plunge pool at your luxury suite or use the central pool and facilities along with the other guests. Lunch is served around midday and you will again prepare for your afternoon Game Drive with a delectable selection of cakes and treats served just before you depart with your Ranger.
You may be excited to rise early today for your last morning Game Drive on the Lion Sands Reserve. Return for another scrumptious breakfast and check out of your suite.
You will then transfer you to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport where you will board the international flight to Livingstone in Zambia.
After completing the immigration formalities your guide will meet you outside the terminal building and give you a guided tour through the town of Livingstone to the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel located on the banks of the Zambezi River immediately upstream from the Victoria Falls.
You have time this afternoon to explore the resort keeping an eye out for the Giraffe, Zebra, Baboon, and Impala that roam freely around the resort. There are many activities and excursions to do in this area such as Helicopter and Microlight flights or a shopping trip to the local craft markets. The ladies at the hotel activity desk will advise which you could consider doing this afternoon.
Your guide will meet you in the hotel reception area after you have finished breakfast and you will take the short walk to the entrance of Victoria Falls. He will then do a guided tour commencing above the waterfall giving you the rich history of the Zambezi River and the discovery of the Victoria Falls by Dr David Livingstone as the first European to see the waterfall.
After this tour, you will have free time for yourself until 15h00 this afternoon. Your guide will meet you in the reception area again and transfer you to the boat landing where you will board the African Queen for a wonderful sunset cruise up the Zambezi River in true colonial style.
You guide will return you to the hotel when the boat docks after sunset.
This morning you will check out after breakfast and your guide will then transfer you to the Botswana border located approximately forty five minutes drive from the hotel.
Once the immigration procedures have been completed, you will transfer to your hotel on the edge of Chobe National Park. Check in to your room and grab a light lunch on the pool deck.
At 15h00 you will join the other hotel guests for the three-hour-long boat cruise on the Chobe River. This is some of the best wildlife viewing to be found anywhere in Southern Africa. You will see Elephants, and MANY Elephants along with an array of Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, and Antelope species. Do not forget the many bird species that are found around this water source.
You will return to the dock shortly after sunset to freshen up and have an expansive dinner under the high thatch roof of the restaurant.
You will need to rise early today as you meet your guide in the hotel foyer at 05h30 for the early morning Game Drive in the Chobe National Park.
The Game drive will last three hours and you return for breakfast at 09h00. Check out after breakfast and the hotel shuttle will transfer you to the Kasane Airport where you will board the Charter Flight that takes you into the Okavango Delta and lands on the private airstrip close to your lodge, the Moremi Crossing.
You will be met at the Airstrip by the crew from Moremi Crossing and they will accompany you to your suite to settle in. Come back to the restaurant area for a light lunch and a briefing of all the activities and ecursions that you will be doing in the Okavango Delta.
You will be able to do a minimum of two wildlife viewing activities today. The activities depend on the amount of water in the floodplains and your guides will advise you what activities you will be able to do today.
There is an abundance of birdlife in the Okavango Delta so keep your camera close at hand at all times.
This morning you can have your last breakfast while taking in the beauty of the animals, birds, and the floodplains of the Akavango Delta.
Your charter flight to the Maun Airport will depart shortly after breakfast. In Maun you will again do all the immigration procedures and then board your scheduled flight to Johannesburg where you may connect with your onward flights.
