Namibia Luxury Safari Guide
Etosha, Sossusvlei & Fly-in Camps
Namibia is the one country where the landscape competes with the wildlife. Etosha’s waterholes in the dry season concentrate game like nowhere else in the south; Sossusvlei’s dunes are simply the most photographed sand on earth. And unlike most of Africa, you can drive it yourself.

Namibia Tours & Wildlife Safari
The full northern circuit – Windhoek, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund and Etosha, guided throughout. The one to book if you want someone else doing the driving and the game spotting.
Namibia Desert Explorer
Sossusvlei, the Skeleton Coast and Damaraland on good gravel, with lodges pre-booked and a 24-hour support line.
The Conscientious Traveller
Weighted towards community conservancies and conservation-linked camps. Fewer sights, more time to enjoy the experience.
Etosha is a dry-season park, and the difference is dramatic
From June to October the pan is bone dry and every animal in the park must come to a handful of waterholes. You sit at one and let the park come to you. From December to April the rain scatters the game across a landscape the size of Switzerland, and you can drive all morning and see very little.
If a client asks for Namibia in January, tell them honestly. The Sossusvlei dunes are still extraordinary – but sell the desert, not the game.
Guided or self-drive?
Namibia is the easiest country in Africa to self-drive: good gravel, very little traffic, English widely spoken. Take the guided option if you want a professional finding the game for you in Etosha, or if you are not comfortable changing a tyre a long way from anywhere.
Can I drive from Cape Town?
Yes – and the “self-drive Namibia from South Africa” route is one of the great road trips. It is a long way, so allow at least sixteen nights. Our dedicated self-drive Namibia guide goes live in week 6 with stage-by-stage driving times.
Is Namibia good for families?
Very. It is malaria-free across most of the country outside the far north-east, driving distances are manageable in a comfortable vehicle, and the dunes and Swakopmund quad-biking keep teenagers genuinely engaged.
