Tour Description
We depart from Cape Town at 08h30, beginning our journey through the picturesque Cape Winelands and over the dramatic Cape Fold Belt Mountains. Along the way, we pass through the town of Ceres before continuing to the Great Karoo. This is a vast semi-desert region celebrated for its rugged beauty and abundant wildlife.
Arriving at the Lodge
We arrive in time for a delicious lunch, and afterwards, you can relax and enjoy a refreshing swim. Later in the afternoon, depart on your first exciting safari game drive to spot animals in their natural habitat.
After an incredible day of exploration, return to the lodge just in time for pre-dinner appetizers, followed by a lovely three-course dinner under the African sky. This evening sets the tone for the adventures ahead, including your upcoming Hermanus Whale Watching experience. This is where you’ll witness the majestic whales in Hermanus up close during the breathtaking Hermanus Whale Cruise.
Begin your day with an exciting morning safari game drive on the Private Inverdoorn Game Reserve followed by a hearty cooked breakfast. After checkout, our scenic drive continues through the scenic Breede River Valley to the historic town of Robertson. Next, we visit Van Loveren Family Orchards for a wine tasting or wine and food pairing experience of your choice.
After lunch, we travel south through the towns of Bonnievale and Riviersonderend to the seaside village of Gansbaai. This is where we check in to our lodge.
Today we board the Dreamcatcher, a custom-built vessel for close-up Hermanus Whale Watching adventures in beautiful Walker Bay.
Here, witness the majestic whales in Hermanus breaching just meters away, an unforgettable sight for every traveler.
From the months of June through to November is Whale season, this is when you enjoy incredible views of the ocean and marine life.
Meanwhile, thrill-seekers may choose to experience an exciting Shark Cage Dive at their own expense.
After the Whale Cruise
After returning to shore, warm up with fresh rolls and homemade soup before continuing your journey.
Next, travel to the charming town of Hermanus for a guided Whale Walk along the scenic cliffs of Walker Bay.
From Hermanus, we follow the scenic Clarens Drive and stop (if time permits) to visit the African Penguin Colony breeding at Stony Point. Your tour ends when we arrive back in Cape Town in the late afternoon.
