Cape Winelands Full Day Tour
Tour Description
We collect you at your hotel in Cape Town and take the short twenty-minute drive to the Cape Winelands.
The Wine Estates we visit today are not fixed and may be influenced by your personal preferences in wine and it may be possible to accommodate a special request for a particular Wine, Wine Estate, or a particular Wine Maker.
Your experience today will typically include a Cellar Tour, a Wine Pairing which could be Wine & Cheese or Wine & Chocolate, and then there will be one additional regular wine tasting which is selected according to your palate and your preference in wine.
We start the day with a visit to the place where Nelson Mandela took his first steps as a free man and then visit the historic town of Paarl for a short orientation tour. During the tour today you will learn about the rich history of South Africa and its people alongside the rich history of our wine.
The next stop is at the century-old KWV Wine Cooperative in South Africa (now a private company) to do a guided tour through the beautiful Cathedral Cellar and sample some of their award-winning wines, sparkling wines, dessert wine, gin or brandy which may include the really smooth twenty-year-old matured choice of the brandy connoisseurs.
Your journey continues through the beautiful landscapes of the Cape Winelands to our next estate where we enjoy a Wine & Food Pairing before we continue on to Stellenbosch which is not only a very important wine region but has also become known as the Wine Capital of South Africa.
From Stellenbosch we return to Cape Town and stop for a last wine tasting at either Simonsig Estate or Kanonkop Estate specializing in Pinotage the truly unique South African wine and cultivar (time permitting).
We return to Cape Town and drop you off at your hotel.
