Luxury Southern Africa Safari

Tour Description(Itinerary)

1

CAPE TOWN

Set at the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans and backed by Table Mountain, Cape Town presents an irresistible combination of white-sand beaches, acclaimed wine routes and spectacular mountain trails around a cosmopolitan hub of restaurants, galleries and heritage sites. Highlights include the views from Table Mountain, the penguins of Boulders Beach, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art and Robben Island, where visitors can see the cell in which Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.

Your stay can include a guided tour of the city and the Cape Peninsula, wine tasting among the historic estates of the Constantia valley, a half-day excursion to Robben Island and an evening of African cuisine and live entertainment. For the adventurous, a shark cage dive in Shark Alley along the Whale Coast can be added, and free time is built in so you can explore the city at leisure.

2

BOTSWANA

Botswana is renowned for its pristine wilderness areas of deep lagoons, wetlands, lush palms, rugged hills and desert plains. Its primary drawcards are the vast red expanse of the Kalahari Desert and the remarkably beautiful Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world. Other highlights include the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, the lion-rich Savuti plains and the ancient rock paintings of the Tsodilo Hills.

3

PRIVATE KWARA RESERVE - OKAVANGO DELTA

Set in the northern Okavango Delta alongside the famous Moremi Game Reserve, the private Kwara concession offers the full Delta experience in one place – permanent waterways, seasonal floodplains and expansive dry land within a single traverse. The reserve is known for its predator sightings, with lion, cheetah and leopard regularly encountered, alongside large herds of elephant and a supporting cast of zebra, giraffe, hippo, impala and the water-adapted sitatunga and lechwe.

Game viewing moves between vehicle, boat and traditional mokoro depending on water levels, with bird watching and guided walks available. Accommodation is in a safari camp on a fully inclusive basis with meals, selected drinks and activities.

4

KASANE AND THE CHOBE RIVERFRONT

Situated on the banks of the Chobe River in northeastern Botswana, Kasane is the gateway to Chobe National Park, home to the largest elephant population of any reserve in Africa. Game drives and an afternoon river cruise bring you close to great herds of elephant and buffalo, along with hippo, crocodile and abundant birdlife, with golden sunsets reflected on the water. Its position near the meeting point of four countries also makes it a natural staging post for the crossing into Zambia.

5

VICTORIA FALLS - ZAMBIA

Situated on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border along the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls is experienced from the Zambian side within Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where walkways trace the cliff edge above a vast basalt gorge. Knife Edge Bridge brings visitors into the spray for close views of the Main Falls and the Eastern Cataract, while Rainbow Falls, the highest section, often reveals shifting arcs of colour in the mist. The Boiling Pot viewpoint looks directly into the whirlpool where the river is forced into the Batoka Gorge, and boat access reaches Livingstone Island and the seasonal Devil’s Pool during low water.

A guided tour of the falls, a visit to Mukuni Village and a sunset cruise on the Zambezi are included, with ample free time for the many other activities on offer – white-water rafting, kayaking, ziplining, bungee jumping, bridge swings, helicopter flights and game viewing along the river. The journey concludes with a flight from Livingstone to Johannesburg to connect with your international departure.
