Tour Description
On your arrival at Jomo Kenyata International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by your Safari Director once you have completed the immigration formalities.
You will transfer from the airport to your luxury hotel downtown in Nairobi. You may check-in and have lunch on the pool deck. Then relax for the afternoon to get over the tiring long-haul flights.
You will all convene at the pool bar in the late afternoon so your Safari Director may brief you on the safari and answer all your questions,
After a leisurely breakfast, you will join your guides for a guided tour of Nairobi which will include the Nairobi Market and City Park.
Mid-morning we will stop at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see the young orphaned elephants being cared for at the trust and learn about the amazing work that this dedicated team does to raise the orphans and reintegrate them with wild herds in Tsavo National Park.
We stop at the amazing Carnivores Restaurant for your lunch and then visit the Giraffe Center and the Karen Blixen Museum in the afternoon if time permits. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon for a well-deserved rest.
We check out from our hotel after breakfast and head to the town of Nakuru.
We arrive at the bustling town of Nakuru located next to the Lake Nakuru National Park by lunchtime.
Our special lunch stop today is planned at the Mission In Action Children's Home (https://www.missioninaction.com.au/ ) for an amazing vegetarian lunch. This is home to over 100 orphaned children who remain in this home with their "parents", Damaris and her team until they can leave as adults with a solid education. Lunch is followed by a guided tour of the home and the school which is privately run by Mission In Action to ensure the best education for their children.
We then proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park and your guides will process the entry formalities before we travel to the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge located in the national park. It is a short Game Drive along the shore of Lake Nakuru to the Lodge where we can check in to the rooms to have a little time for relaxation.
If time permits, we will go out for the afternoon Game Drive and return to the lodge at sunset to freshen up for dinner and to have a good night's rest.
Today you will explore the Lake Nakuru National Park on two Game Drives.
The early Game Drive departs soon after sunrise and will last approximately 3 hours. Your extensive breakfast buffet is waiting for you when you return to the lodge. After breakfast, you may take time to relax until lunch is served.
You may enjoy some tasty cookies with a beverage of your choice around mid-afternoon and meet your guide for the afternoon Game Drive. You return back to the lodge at sunset in time to freshen up for your dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Today we drive from Nakuru to the Masai Mara. Check out after breakfast and settle in for the four-hour drive to Masai Mara with a few well-timed comfort stops along the way.
We arrive at the luxurious Mara Game Camp in time for lunch and then we check in to the luxury tents where you may enjoy a little siesta after the long drive this morning.
Your guide will meet you for coffee, tea, and snacks in the mid-afternoon, and then you will go on the first afternoon Game Drive in the vast Masai Mara in search of the abundant wildlife. You will return at sunset for a scrumptious dinner and time to relax.
Your guide will advise on where the greatest concentration of wildlife is to be found and the Game Drives will be tailored to provide you the best possible viewing of the animals.
In order to penetrate further into the vast Masai Mara, you may do a full-day game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch out on the plains of the Masai Mara. You will then return to the lodge in the mid-afternoon for some time to relax.
You also have an option to do the Hot Air Balloon Safari on this day. You will be collected from the lodge before sunrise to travel to the launch site. Then enjoy an hour-long flight drifting over the animals spread out over the grass plains and then you are treated to a wonderful champagne breakfast laid out near the landing site.
Your guide will collect you after the wonderful breakfast and you will then continue with the game drive until you return to the lodge in time for lunch. This afternoon you may do the last afternoon Game Drive to find more wildlife on the plains of the Masai Mara.
Your Magnificent Safari to East Africa, unfortunately, comes to an end today.
After breakfast, you will check out and transfer to the airport in Nairobi in order to connect with your onward international flights.
