The magic of Zimbabwe in Luxury
Tour Description
On your arrival at OR Tambo International Airport you will connect straight through to the regional flight to Victoria Falls.
You arrive at the Victoria Falls International Airport and you will be met by your guide who will be responsible to look after you for your included excursions while in Victoria Falls. When you arrive at the hotel you may check in to your rooms and then you have an hour or two to explore the grounds before your guide comes to pick you up for the short transfer to the boat, the Malachite.
You will first do a cruise upstream while you enjoy sundowners and cocktails to watch the beautiful African sunset over the Zambezi River. After this, the dinner service will commence while the Captain cruises gently downstream and you will dock again approximately three hours after sunset.
You can have a leisurely breakfast on the deck this morning enjoying nature and the many species of birds that live along the river.
Your guide will meet you after breakfast and take you through the town center to the entrance of the Victoria Falls World Heritage Site. He will conduct a guided tour of the waterfall and the adjoining rain forest before giving you time to wander around and take in the spectacle of around 5000 tons of water per second cascading into the gorge.
From here you will travel the short distance to the Lookout Cafe perched on the edge of the 300-foot deep Batoka Gorge. You have a very satisfying two-course lunch included and you can take your time to savour the fresh unpolluted African air.
After lunch, you have a few hours to explore the quaint little town of Victoria Falls and wander around the craft markets before heading back to your hotel to freshen up for dinner. This is also an ideal opportunity to book the optional Helicopter flight over Victoria Falls so you can get a perspective of the enormity of this waterfall.
In the evening your guide will meet you in the foyer and take you to the Boma Restaurant where you can enjoy an expansive buffet dinner while the local African musicians and dancers keep you entertained. Your guide will return you to your hotel when you have finished dinner.
This morning you will check out of the room after your breakfast. Your guide will be waiting for you so that he can transfer you from Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park which will take around two hours.
This is the only road transfer of any great distance but it does give you an opportunity to view the rolling hills of the area. On arrival at the Somalisa Camp, you can settle into the luxury accommodation and then have a nice lunch. The camp crew will provide you with a briefing so that you may know what to expect over the coming days.
Later this afternoon you will join your guide for the first Game Drive in the Hwange area.
Your guide will take you out on two wildlife viewing excursions today. The optimum viewing time is usually early in the morning and late afternoon but you may opt for one walking safari which could be done during the middle of the day.
The luxury camp has all the amenities for a relaxing time inbetween your Game Drives.
After a last morning Game Drive in Hwange, you will have breakfast and you can check out of the camp. Your guide will transfer you to the airstrip for your Charter Flight to your next exciting adventure at Mana pools.
You guide while you are at Mana Pools will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to your next luxury camp. Settle in and have some lunch while you watch the animals of Mana Pools passing by.
You will go out for your afternoon Game Drive later in the afternoon returning after sunset.
Today you will explore Mana Pools which is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
There is a very large animal and bird population supported by the Zambezi River flowing through the park. You expert Guide will take you to different areas to find as many of the species as possible on two wildlife viewing excursions during the day.
Enjoy your last Game Drive with your guide in Mana Pools this morning and return for a scrumptious breakfast.
Ater breakfast you will pack up and bid farewell to the crew at Nyamatusi Camp. Your guide will transfer you to the airstrip for your charter flight to Bumi Hills Safari Lodge on the shore of Lake Kariba. You arrive in time for lunch and then you can get settled in your luxury suite.
There are a lot of boating excursions available at Bumi Hills and your guides will brief you on what activities are scheduled during your time here.
This is your opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery from the lodge perched on Bumi Hills.
You will determine your schedule for the day and the crew at the lodge will adjust accordingly. You can spend the morning relaxing around the pool and end the day with a cruise on Lake Kariba. It is also possible to do some sport fishing on the lake going in search of the elusive Tiger Fish.
All good things must come to an end and today you will check out of Bumi Hills Safari Lodge after breakfast and your guide will transfer you to the airstrip for your charter flight to Victoria Falls International Airport.
