Kenya Wildlife Safari
Tour Description
After an early breakfast, you depart from Nairobi and drive south through Narok to the Masai Mara arriving at the Mara Game Camp in time for lunch.
After some time to relax you will depart on an afternoon game drive in the expansive Masai Mara returning to the Camp in the late afternoon in time to freshen up for dinner.
We enjoy morning and afternoon Game Drives in Masai Mara National Reserve.
The Masai Mara is very large with rolling hills and grasslands. Your Guide will advise where the best opportunities for viewing the animals will be and this may entail a full-day game drive carrying our packed picnic lunches.
We leave the Masai Mara this morning and head to the town of Nakuru.
At the town of Nakuru we make a stop at the Mission in Africa Children's Home for our lunch break. We meet the "Mom" Damaris and her team, who care for a family of +/-120 children and still growing. They specialize in caring for stressed and abandoned babies who join their family and remain with them till they are able to leave as adults.
Damaris provides a real Christian family atmosphere for the children and they have established and run a school to provide the highest quality education for their children.
After this enriching visit, we enter Lake Nakuru National Park and do a Game Drive around Lake Nakuru to arrive at our lodge in the late afternoon.
We spend the day in Lake Nakuru National Park. The Lake attracts large flocks of Flamingo, Pelican, and many other species of birds while being home to numerous Rothschild Giraffes that have been relocated here from the Giraffe Center that you visited in Nairobi.
You will get to see the many species of wildlife in this beautiful park and these include large herds of Buffalo, Zebra, and both the Black Rhino as well as the White Rhino,
Be ready for some truly spectacular photo opportunities and the wild animals with the lake as a backdrop.
This morning we leave Lake Nakuru and drive to the Aberdares via the town of Nyahururu where we make a quick stop at Thomson Falls.
We continue on to the Aberdare Country Club for our lunch and after lunch, we transfer into the densely forested reserve to our very quaint lodge, The Ark.
Tonight you will be able to sit comfortably in the viewing room and watch the Elephant, Buffalo, and other animals feeding on the nutrient-rich banks next to the waterhole. The Elephant could be as close as three meters (10 feet) from your armchair.
After your leisurely breakfast, we transfer out of the forest and continue to travel northwards. The magnificent Mount Kenya will be clearly visible before we enter the very large commercial flower farms producing fresh roses for the European cut-flower market.
We then descend off the slopes of Mount Kenya to the more arid regions of northern Kenya arriving at the Samburu Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Park.
We check-in and have lunch at the lodge and later in the afternoon, we go on a Game Drive. Be sure to look for the beautiful Grevy's Zebra, the Gerenuk Antelope, and the Kenya Blue Ostrich which are found here.
We return to the lodge at sunset to freshen up for dinner.
Today we explore the Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Park to find as many species of the special wildlife that live in this more arid environment.
This is a very special day because we travel back to the slopes of Mount Kenya and visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
This is home to the last surviving Northern White Rhino left on earth and the conservancy is also home to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary started by Jane Goodall. We visit both these areas and do a Game Drive before settling in for the night at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
This morning you will be transferred to the Nanyuki Airstrip for your charter flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi where you will be reunited with your guide. This means that you may have a leisurely start to your day with a relaxed breakfast while your guide travels the four to five-hour journey to meet you in Nairobi.
From Wilson Airport you will travel to Amboseli National Park arriving late in the afternoon to witness the sunset and see the last rays of sun reflecting off Mount Kilimanjaro.
We leave the camp after an early breakfast and carry our packed lunch for a full day exploring the Amboseli National Park.
This park is renowned for the Elephant that have very long tusks that can measure up to five feet in length. You also have the most spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro from the swampy wetland created by the snow-melt off Mount Kilimanjaro that attracts the large herds of Elephant, Buffalo and many other beautiful species.
This is Masai country and the traditional Maasai Villages may be found all around Amboseli. Talk to your guide to arrange a visit to the Maasai to learn more about their unique lifestyle.
We return to the camp late in the afternoon to enjoy a last relaxing evening in Kenya.
Sadly your magnificent Wildlife Safari in Kenya comes to an end today.
After a very leisurely breakfast enjoying the spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro, we check out and drive back to Nairobi where you will bid farewell to your guide and connect to your pre-arranged international flights.
