Safari Zambia – TEN days
Tour Description
Our representative will be waiting to meet you when you arrive in Lusaka to assist you with your luggage and check-in arrangements for your flight to South Luangwa National Park.
The safari crew will meet you at the Mfuwe Airport and transfer you to Kafunta River Lodge. Check in to your suite, relax and freshen up after your long series of flights.
In the mid-afternoon, you will meet your Ranger in preparation for the first Game Drive. You can have a bite to eat and enjoy some cookies before taking your place on the open Safari Vehicle to view the magnificent wildlife in the South Luangwa National Park.
You return to the Lodge at around sunset for a scrumptious dinner and a good night's rest.
Today you explore the South Luangwa National Park on two Game Drives with your Ranger. These are usually done early in the morning and late in the afternoon when the animals are at their most active.
The open 4x4 Safari Vehicle allows you maximum visibility and you are guaranteed a side or "window" seat to get the best pictures.
During the middle of the day, you may relax and enjoy the fantastic facilities at the lodge. Take a look at the Spa Treatments on offer and spoil yourself.
Your schedule today is similar to your first day at Kafunta River Lodge. Speak to your Ranger to arrange a walking safari during the day to discover the animal tracks, sights and sounds of the African Bush.
You will go out on the afternoon Game Drive and return to your lodge after sunset this evening. Dinner may be served under the starry African sky and you get the opportunity to do some Star Gazing after dinner.
Depending on the departure time of your flight to Lower Zambezi National Park, you may have the opportunity for the last Game Drive in South Luangwa this morning.
You may choose to have a relaxed start to the day and have a very leisurely breakfast because the wildlife viewing will continue when you reach Baines River Camp this afternoon.
Your Ranger from Baines River Camp will be waiting to meet you when you arrive at Jeki Airstrip. The transfer to the lodge is a game drive in itself with many animals and bird species to be seen.
Once you have checked in you can have lunch on the deck and relax till your afternoon Game Drive.
You will be able to do the morning and afternoon Game Drives with your Ranger in the Lower Zambezi National Park. You will also have the option to enjoy water-based activities on the Zambezi River.
Discover the therapeutic influence of nature in Africa by doing a guided paddle excursion along the banks of the Zambezi. You are surrounded by up to 400 species of African Wildlife and you can view the nesting birds along the banks of the river at very close range.
Today you will do the last Game Drive with your Ranger and then fly to the town of Livingstone which is the tourism capital of Zambia.
On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will be transferred to the Waterberry Zambezi Lodge located upstream of the mighty Victoria Falls.
This is the ideal time to have a relaxing afternoon and enjoy the wonderful facilities at the lodge.
This morning you can enjoy a guided tour of Victoria Falls followed by a cruise up the Zambezi River to enjoy a unique Island Picnic Lunch.
Return in the late afternoon and have a chat to the crew at the acivity desk regarding the many optional activities that are available around the Victoria Falls that you could do tomorrow morning. For the real adrenaline junkies there is the white water rafting, gorge swing or the bungi to consider.
For the non-adrenaline junkies there is the helicopter flips or microlight flights over Victoria Falls alongside a host of cultural and shopping experiences to consider.
Today is your last full day on Safari. If you are not doing one of the optional adrenaline sports, you may want to consider exploring the local culture with a visit to the local community.
This afternoon you will enjoy a beautiful Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River. It is a unique experience to sip cocktails on the boat while watching the magnificent African sunset over the river. You may also see the Hippos that live on the water's edge and even a few Elephants swimming across the fast-flowing Zambezi River.
Return to the lodge after sunset for another great meal and relax on the terrace viewing the stars while waiting for the Southern Cross to appear.
Today your Safari in Zambia, unfortunately, comes to an end.
Wake up at a leisurely hour and have a relaxed breakfast on the deck overlooking the Zambezi River before you transfer back to the airport for your scheduled flight to Lusaka.
