Tour Description
Begin your Victoria Falls Tour Extension with a scheduled flight departing from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Livingstone, Zambia. On arrival, you will meet your guide at the Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport.
Enjoy a short guided orientation tour of Livingstone town before checking into Avani Victoria Falls resort.
With direct access to the Victoria Falls National Park, you may visit the waterfalls several times for photography and relaxation. The Avani Victoria Falls resort offers comfort, and wild animals that roaming around on its grounds. Explore the resort and enjoy a hearty dinner at the poolside.
View the Victoria Falls sunrise on an early morning, for photographic moment of the falls. Return to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast buffet in the restaurant that is open to the pool deck.
Guided Victoria Falls Tour
After breakfast, your Guide will meet you at reception and take you for the short walking tour of the falls. The Victoria Falls walking tour commences above the waterfall and then circling around to get a view of the falls from the other side of the gorge. Here you will stand a good chance of being thoroughly drenched by the falling spray from the cascading water.
After, you will return to the hotel before lunchtime and you have the afternoon to yourself to relax by the poolside while the Zebra come to graze on the lawns close by. There are many other activities to consider such as cultural trips or shopping in the local markets which may be booked directly at the activities desk at the hotel reception.
This morning enjoy your warm breakfast and transfer to the helicopter base. Enjoy your twenty minutes helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls and Batoka Gorge, while admiring the areal views
This morning you will transfer to the Helicopter Base for your twenty minute helicopter flight over the mighty Victoria Falls and the Batoka Gorge. Having walked around the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side yesterday morning, you can now view the entire width of the spectacular waterfall from the air. Your pilot will then take you down the Batoka Gorge down river from the Victoria Falls so you can view the former positions of the waterfall over the centuries.
You return to the Avani Resort to relax, enjoy the facilities and possibly have a swim. Lunch is served at the pool deck where you can also listen to the local musicians entertaining you while you dine.
At around 16h00 you will meet your guide in the reception area and transfer to the Zambezi Waterfront where the majestic vessels, the African Queen and the African Princess are moored. Board your vessel for a relaxing cruise up the Zambezi River to view the magnificent sunset while sipping cocktails in true colonial style.
After the vessel has docked a little after sunset, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel for a relaxing evening with dinner served in the restaurant overlooking the freestyle form swimming pool.
You can have a leisurely start this morning and have breakfast before you pack up in preparation to check out of the hotel. Your Guide will be ready at reception at 09h30 for your transfer back to the airport in Livingstone .
The extension tour ends on your arrival at OR Tambo International Airport after your scheduled flight from Livingstone.
