Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia under threat by Australian mining company!

Mining Company Threatens Lower Zambezi National Park Wildlife

On 17 January 2014 100% mining rights were granted to Zambezi Resources Ltd an Australian based Company to proceed with it’s Kangaluwi Copper Project in Lower Zambezi National Park (Zambia). This was approved by the Minister of Lands, Natural resources and Environmental Protection and this was after Zambian Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) had rejected this proposition in September 2012.

A petition against this decision was started by IPA Manning  in January 2014. Below is an update dated 22 July 2014 from his petition about the Zambezi mining battle. Please add your name to the petition to protect the Zambian Wildlife Areas.

Below is a link containing the letter from the Zambian Government approving the mining rights, as well as a letter from Zambezi Resources Ltd announcing their decision.
